Kamchatka in concert

Went to see the excellent Swedish trio Kamchatka. Epic guitar rock with great lyrics and stoner riffs... They played some older songs and great new stuff from their just recently released fifth album "The Search Goes On". Fantastic evening!Thomas Juneor Andersson (vocals, guitar)Tobias Strandvik (drums)Per Wiberg (bass)

There are no secrets

Find yourself

We go through life So sure of where we're headin' And then we wind up lost And it's the best thing that could have happened 'Cause sometimes when you lose your way It's really just as well Because you find yourself Yeah, that's when you find yourself... #Brad Paisley

First songs

As a complete greenhorn, I naturally started off by practicing some of my favorite songs by such great artists as U2, Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, Metallica, Radiohead, Jason Isbell (and if you think this is quite a jumbled hotchpotch, you haven't even seen half the list...).But of course my guitarist (yeah, need one - who of you really believed that I'd actually learn to play well enough within a couple of months?) isn't too happy with covering other people's songs (no matter how great they are) and suggested writing our own stuff. I said "Nah... -- If -- at…

Jam session

Had great fun in the drummer's basement, jamming with a couple of friends... Excellent evening.

Aynsley Lister in concert

Great blues guitar night with Aynsley Lister at the Hot Jazz Club in Münster. He's currently touring with his new album Home, which was released by his own label, Straight Talkin’ Records (professionally managed by his charming partner Steph). Always a pleasure to see awesome people on stage :)  Aynsley Lister (vocals, guitar)Steve Amadeo (bass)Wayne Proctor (drums)André Bassing (keyboards)

Played it till my fingers bled

So a little update on my progress so far... I designed this page, joined Twitter and found out how to set the Facebook settings in a way that keeps the NSA at bay (yeah, as if anything really could...). Then I remembered that all of this actually should be about the music ;) so I grabbed my guitar and practiced till my fingers hurt (which unfortunately does not describe a very long period of time, and I'm dreading the steel strings on the other guitar... Yes, I'm a sissy, I know.) ... I'll write again when my fingers stop hurting…
